Admittedly, John Radford didn't score a goal during his season with us but he was signed as the target man to beef up our weak strike force. This was used to great effect against a rampant Liverpool team in 1976 when we beat them 2-0 at home, the first time we had beaten them for some seasons. I saw his time with us and was quite impressed with his intelligent play, headers and strength.
